We recognise that Contingency Recruitment delivered well, can be effective when a client is happy to select against a selection of CVs of pre-qualified, high quality, active candidates. However, in a competitive market with limited candidate supply, this can also prove ineffective.

A more proactive approach is Retained, particularly when there is a need to identify and considerably widen the search by exploring the vast, hidden, inactive candidate pool. Rather than a full Search, which might be considered excessive for more junior roles, Retained works especially well when the timing is crucial or niche skillsets are essential for a role.

Working as an extension of your business, we are exclusively retained to deliver against agreed objectives, timeframes and milestones. We dedicate significant time and resources to generate brand new candidates specifically for your role. We target, engage and interview them, and ultimately deliver a detailed shortlist of candidates – often only considering your role – together with our detailed interview notes. As this process can be cross-border, we often utilise FR Video interviewing, thus removing the need for significant travel costs that often accompany Search mandates. This service line constitutes a significant proportion of our client instructions often from repeat clients who have complete trust in our capabilities and rely on us to solve their recruitment challenges time and time again.

Unlike Contingency, where the full fee falls due following success, Retained does require investment from a client, both at outset and shortlist stage. This structure places greater emphasis on the commitment between us and our client, emphasisng the partnership approach we favour to all our mandates.
