Candidate Spotlight: Ramsay Floyd, Interim Centre Manager, Mander Centre

Foundation Recruitment caught up with Ramsay Floyd to hear all about his career to date.

Tell us about your previous career experience and how you came to work in the shopping centre industry.

I was previously employed in the department store sector in various roles such as; Regional Manager, Store Manager and Regional Space Planning Manager and left the dept store sector to start own business.

I then applied for a shopping centre opportunity and was offered another interim role – since then I have done 3 interim roles.

What are your interests outside of work?

I’m married with 2 young kids and enjoy spending time with family and friends. I am also an avid Newcastle United supporter!

What are your future plans for the shopping centre?

Currently, the centre is undergoing major redevelopment with Debenhams underpinning the project – due to be completed and planned opening a/w 2017. The remodelling of the centre will create 10 new large retail units to complete the anchor store and ensure modern retail spaces appropriate for major multiple retailers are created.
