A top 5 shopping centre in Scotland is recruiting a Retail Liaison Manager to establish and maintain effective relationships with the tenants with a view to improve performance and drive customer experience and engagement. This is a newly created role and you will report into the Centre Manager and support them as a number two – a senior role with lots of responsibility!

The centre undergone a significant extension back in 1997 and has a great tenant mix and has key anchor stores such as Debenhams, M&S, Boots, Next, Primark and Zara. The centre has great development plans and is keen to enhance the appearance of the centre and attract new offers for customers so that generations of families can continue to visit the centre and use it as their favourite place to meet and socialise for many years to come. Internal retail communication during this time is paramount, and the role plays a central part in the successful operation of the centre.

Main responsibilities:

  • Engaging with retail partners at all levels (Store Manager to Managing Director).
  • Understanding and analysing performance trends at store level and across businesses.
  • Supporting the development of the shopping centre by liaising closely with all stakeholders to maintain relationships, communicate changes and manage expectations.
  • Being aware of retailer events and their impact on the centre, ensuring they run smoothly and are well managed.

Key competencies and experience:

  • Retail experience, management level or above.
  • An understanding of trends and the ability to analyse data, making recommendations where appropriate.
  • Tenacious and energetic with strong communication skills.
  • Leadership qualities and experience.
  • Presentation and reporting writing skills.
  • Proven customer experience skills.
