A leading service provider has instructed us on an exciting Assistant Security Manager opportunity at a leading shopping centre in Manchester. The business is responsible for overseeing contracts throughout the country including retail, commercial and trophy asset sites.

As the Assistant Security Manager, you will help the senior management team oversee teams, budgets and strategically implement new policies to enhance customer services. This is a unique role to work within the shopping centre industry and provides the chance of learning/enhancing a customer-focused skill set.

We are seeking a security management professional who has worked within the customer-facing environment. These sites can include; retail premises, shopping centres, multi-tenanted commercial offices, airports or venues.


The role is based at a major retail scheme in the North West that is tenanted by Apple and Marks and Spencer amongst others. The site is also easily accessible via road, railway, tram and bus links. With a catchment area of over two million, it is an exciting site to work within.


  • The Assistant Security Manager will develop and implement best practice policies and procedures that advise for the estates delivery of compliance.
  • You will help lead the operational management of all areas of the onsite teams to deliver and add value to the site.
  • You will measure the performance of your team against targets and motivate them to exceed expectations.
  • For this Assistant Security Manager vacancy, you will be responsible for helping deal with difficult and challenging situations in the centre, liaising with stakeholders from the stores and remedying issues that arise quickly.
  • You will ensure that you remain in regular contact with both internal and external stakeholders ensuring that the client’s needs are met at all times.


  • You must have experience in tenant facing environments, ideally with previous roles where you have overseen a site like a retail or leisure property.
  • You must have a strong understanding of security frameworks.
  • You must have past experience overseeing large teams of both direct and indirect reports.
