We are representing a Pan-European Investment Management Firm in the search for a Senior Asset Manager role to join their team in Madrid. The existing asset portfolio is compose mainly of residential and offices but they also managed logistics and retail assets for third parties. The company’s future plans are to increase the portfolio of residential assets to develop multi-family homes, student residences and alternative assets.

General responsibilities description:

Entails directing international clients, property managers and leasing brokers on a portfolio asset. The Asset Manager manages both operating assets as well as development projects, including: construction, Capex,  lease-up, financing, internal and Client’s reports, and closing newly completed developments.

Key Activities:

  • Provide general management and strategic direction for a diversified portfolio of properties (mainly Multifamily, Offices and Alternaves uses). This includes the lead of the clients  relationships and direct and frequent contact with property managers, operating companies, leasing brokers, etc
  • Review final documentation to close into transactions upon completion of construction.
  • Meet with management to set up initial leasing/opening strategies. Establish ongoing processes with leasing and property managers to monitor asset performance.
  • Negotiate contracts with property management and leasing firms. Negotiate leases as appropriate.
  • Oversee the budget process and preparation of the annual strategic plan for each property.
  • Prepare analyses of various investment decisions – leasing; financing; acquisition; hold/sell
  • Review quarterly appraisals for factual accuracy and consistency with other similar properties.
  • Review periodic property reports and track operating performance. Prepare reports for the clients.
  • Provide general management and direction through the development process working in concert with the Technical advisor.
  • Monitor the construction process and manage issues with the monitor,  etc.
  • Provide assistance to the transactions mainly in the acquisition and disposition of properties.
  • Evaluate potential transactions in terms of overall deal strength as well as portfolio suitability.
  • Prepare periodic internal reports.


  • Ability to work on various real estate investments (PRS, BTR, office, alternative investments…, etc.). Ideally with experience in PRS/BTR.
  • Strong quantitative skills and demonstrated analytical ability.
  • Strong organization skills, attention to detail and ability to manage multiple assets simultaneously.
  • Understanding of key real estate agreements including , leases, purchase and sale agreements, management and leasing agreements and loan agreements.
  • Knowledge of Spanish real estate markets.
  • Awareness of portfolio/projects goals and ability to develop and monitor specific plans for individual investments that contribute to these goals.
  • Ability to make presentations to senior management and clients, when necessary.
  • Strong interpersonal/communication skills.
  • Ability to work on a team and work independently.
  • Strong quantitative skills and demonstrated analytical ability.


  • Around 5 years of experience in the real estate investment industry required.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics strongly preferred or Master in Business Administration or Real Estate.
  • Fluent in English.
